The room
The Foundry is a community arts building on Rogers Street, in what genuinely used to be an iron foundry. We're in the room at the back — no windows, serious sound, and a floor with some give in it.
The obvious questions
No. The point is an hour that feels unusually alive, not pushing anybody onto a dance floor. Hang back, play along, move a little, move a lot. Nobody is watching you.
Yes, and it's built for it. You'll have something to do within ninety seconds and a reason to talk to a stranger within three minutes. It skips the "so, what do you do" part entirely.
Whatever you already had on. The whole premise is that you don't go home and change first. Comfortable shoes are a bonus, not a requirement.
One hour. The whole idea depends on respecting your lunch break — it starts fast, peaks fast, and ends while it's still fun. Slip out early if you need to.
Yourself, and a phone that can take a text if you ticked the box. Nothing to download, nothing to print.
Then this is aimed squarely at you. A low-stakes hour to meet a room full of people, in daylight, with a built-in excuse to talk to them.

Blocks of ten and up. Cheaper than buying the same ten people lunch, and the only offsite anyone will ask to do again. We'll split you up on purpose.
For partners
Put your name on one of the instructions. Two dozen people read it on their lock screen over breakfast, then spend an hour conspiring because of it. Nobody deletes these.
